Luke started Preschool on Monday!
He walked in like he owned the joint ... I was so proud of him, but sad all at the same time. My little guy didn't need me .... I set his stuff down so that I could sign him in and when I turned around to take his coat off, he was gone ... I looked around and found him in the next room with all of the cars and trucks and best yet, a ROAD RUG!!!! He was in heaven! I made it about 45 minutes down the road before I called to check on him, maybe he missed me or needed me ... NOPE ... he was fine, playing with the other kids. I called again around nap time, he didn't nap, but layed on his cot like a big boy and watched a movie. I got there to pick him up right around 5 PM, he saw me walk in the door, he said "Hi Momma" I said "Hi Luke" and I went to sign him out, turned around to see him sitting on the floor with more toys. I asked him if he was ready to go home, he said in a big proud voice "No Momma, I Preschool!" After about 25 minutes of coaxing, I get him to put his coat on and go home with me. I tell him that he can come back and play the next day with the kids. I get him home, he was an angel!!! I'm telling you, I don't know what happened to my little hell on wheels ... he ate his dinner and played, he was such a delight to be around!
Tuesday - Valentine's Day
Austin and I took Luke to preschool. Luke is one happy dude there! He's adjusting very well to Preschool life! I took Austin to school and went home to rest up for his party! Got to Austin's school about 1:45ish with pizza, cupcakes, prizes for games, soda etc etc ... We played about 4-5 games, it was a blast! We did the liccorice race, you take string liccorice and put a marshmellow at the end of it and the first one to have the marshmallow in their mouth w/o using their hands wins ... we made it a team event ... (Austin's team didn't win that one) We went into the hall and did a VALENTINE relay race ... another team event ... (Austin's team won) they had to run and get a heart from the basket, and had to spell out Valentine ... some hearts were blank .... the next race was you had to run to the center of the hall, pick up a heart and do what it said on the heart .... for example if it said walk like an elephant, thats what they had to do going back to their line ... the first group to complete the hearts won. (Austin's team won!) Then we did a Prize Walk ... you know, like a cake walk (austin won 3x) then we did a Valentine's Day word search ... see how many words you could make from Valentine's Day. Austin won that too! We had a lot of fun! We picked Luke up and went to Ponderosa for dinner. Again, both boys were angels for dinner!
Last night after I picked Luke up, I told him we needed to go and get Austin from Jenny's house. Luke screamed at me, no Jenny no Jenny momma. I told him it was ok, he didn't have to stay, he calmed down a bit .... till I undid his seatbelt at her house so that we could go and get Austin. We went inside and Luke kept crying, "Momma I go bye-bye ..." Needless to say, our visit was a short one. Do you get the feeling Preschool was the best thing I could have ever done for him???? I sure do ...
Today, Luke wasn't as thrilled about preschool ... I could see him crying from the door as I went down the road ... MOOOOOOOMMMMMMM MMMMMAAAAA. I called about 30 minutes later and he was off playing .... don't know whats up with that ...
and I'm SICK AGAIN!! another sinus infection or something .... I had sinus surgery about 5 years ago, they removed polips and stuff from my sinus cavity ... I'm wondering if those aren't back ... is that possible that they'd come back? I don't know ... think its almost time to call the dr.
