Is it to much to ask?

Is it to much to ask for a hug,
a smile, an unexpected glance
for just a minute longer,
a phone call just by chance.

It was to much to ask a friend
to be more than just a friend
to hold each and every night
to wake with at the break of light

A card, a letter, I wanted everyone to know
how much you really meant to me
I wanted to let it show

Instead you broke my heart
you left me in the cold
to pick up broken pieces
of the love that was untold.

As the years pass
I think of us, the way it could've been
why couldn't I be number one
the one who wasn't a sin

One day I'll find him
the man thats meant to be
the one that makes me feel so safe
the one who'll marry me.
