This, That and The Other
This past week has been a good one, a busy one, but a good one for the most part. Yes, I was sick again, another cold.... I'll live ...
Luke turned 2 last Wednesday. Grandpa sang "Happy Birthday" to Luke on the Answering Machine. I made him a firetruck cake to take to preschool. They ate about half of it and sent the rest home. Its in the freezer cause we really don't need that much cake. We had Luke's birthday party the Sunday before his birthday. I baked him a car cake for that party, there was NONE left. He got a book from Grandma and Grandpa, he got a GO GO BIKE, helmet and horn from Momma and Austin and from Debbie and Ray he got him some Mr. Potato head kinda toys. (no eyes came with this, came with an extra pack of arms... and its Luke's favorite toy now!)
Austin had a Powerpoint project to do for school, he had to present it Thursday night. He did a good job, didn't have as much detail as other kids did, but enough. He did his presentation on Papillons. He liked it and was happy with it, thats really all that matters.
This past weekend Austin and his older brother Aaron were in a bowling tournament in Lees Summit, MO. The boys did alright. They had fun, thats what was most important. I've found that Austin's brother is a bigger baby than Luke is when it comes to getting his way. I can't even begin to count the number of times he stomped and pouted and cried over the weekend. It was rediculous. And LISTEN ... OMG, that boy can not listen to save his life. By the time we left the pool, I was SOOO tired of telling Aaron to quit holding Austin under the water.
Austin and I rode up with his Dad, step-mom and brother. 3 1/2 hour drive felt a lot longer than that. We left Friday evening and got back Sunday night around 7:30. Grandma and Grandpa were watching Luke and had brought him home so that I didn't have to drive any further. Luke said "Hi Momma" and went about playing. This morning when he woke up, he asked me "Where Papa" I told him that he's at work, so he starts asking for Nana.
The trip was interesting ... I got kinda aggrivated ... Dennis tells me how they don't have money, but to kill time this weekend, we go to "Super Target" and Corinne spends $58 on nothing she needed. THEN, because Aaron wanted "Outback" for dinner that is where we ended up, nevermind the wait was 70 minutes. I told them I didn't care where we went to eat, I had never been to Outback (and at that time didn't know the prices) $70 for 3 adults and 2 kids to eat!! I said something to Dennis about the amount of money that was getting forked out on everything and he says, "Yeah, It's not her money, she doesn't care" I have NO idea why he stays there, you certainly can't feel the love there.
Guess thats about it ... I'm glad to be home with my baby again .... and Next year, the tournament is LOCAL!!!!! 20 minutes from the house ... which means .... I can drive myself, eat where I want to eat and not be on anyone's schedule but mine. :)
